Kaolin is a non-metallic mineral, a clay and clay rock mainly composed of kaolinite clay minerals. Pure kaolin is white, fine, soft, and has good physical and chemical properties such as plasticity and fire resistance. Drying is very important in the production and application of kaolin, which can ensure product quality, improve physical properties, increase grinding efficiency, and facilitate storage and transportation.
Kaolin drying requires the use of a kaolin dryer, which uses a downstream drying process. After entering the drying drum, kaolin is divided into the following working areas: the first is the material guide area, where kaolin enters this area and contacts with high-temperature hot air to quickly evaporate moisture. Kaolin is introduced into the next working area under the copying of the material guide plate with a large guide angle; the second is the copying plate area, where kaolin is copied by the copying plate to form a material curtain state. At this time, kaolin is fully in contact with hot air, and the moisture in the kaolin is quickly evaporated and peeled off to become water vapor, which is then drawn away by the induced draft fan, thereby achieving the purpose of kaolin drying; kaolin is dried in this area into a loose state with a moisture content of less than 5% (or lower). After heat exchange, the kaolin reaches the required moisture state and enters the discharge area behind; the third is the discharge area, where the drum is not equipped with a copying plate, and the kaolin rolls and slides to the discharge port in this area to complete the entire drying process.
Dried kaolin has a wide range of uses:
Ceramics: It is used in daily use, construction, and art ceramics to increase strength, improve performance, and enhance appearance.
Papermaking: As a filler to increase brightness and smoothness; as a coating pigment to increase gloss and printability.
Coatings: As a body pigment to increase volume and stabilize performance; as a functional filler to give special properties.
Rubber and plastics: The former increases strength and wear resistance; the latter improves mechanical, thermal and processing properties.
Petrochemical: As a catalyst carrier to increase activity and selectivity; as a refractory material to resist high temperatures and corrosion.

Many mineral processing plants face a confusing problem: even with the same processing capacity, some copper concentrate drying lines consume far more fuel and power than others. The energy gap usually reaches 20%–40% in actual operation. The difference i
Utilizing boiler exhaust gas (120°C–180°C) from a power plant as the heat source for a fly ash dryer is a core strategy for reducing costs in fly ash recovery projects. However, three key issues must be addressed in practice:
Freshly washed sand retains too much surface moisture, unsuitable for direct storage, transportation or end-use processing. For sand production plants, professional sand drying equipment is essential to consistently reduce moisture and qualify finished sa
In the slag processing industry, traditional drying equipment often suffers from issues such as low thermal efficiency, rapid heat loss, and poor sealing, resulting in significant energy waste and high drying costs. In reality, the key to overcoming these
